When I left Big Sandy (in 1973) I worked for various companies from General Labor, Plant Mgr, General Mgr., VP of Mfg., VP of Sales to President/CEO of KEPCO, Inc. Learn more about our company by going to the website: kepcoinc.com.
Two years ago, Paula, Angela & Rita started and own Apple Knockers Ice Cream Parlor. Check them out on Face Book, the best ice cream and food in Vicksburg.
Paula and I also own KEPCO, Inc. (Electropolishing & Passivating Stainless Steel). Tim is our Plant Mgr. and Nick is our Sales Mgr. I have worked at KEPCO since 1989 and then Paula and I purchased the company in 1997. Our primary markets are: Medical, Automotive, House wares, Pharmaceutical, etc.
NOTE: Our lives have been very busy. So as soon as things slow down just a bit, I hope to completely update (with family Pictures) my profile.
BRAND NEW POST AS OF 12/27/2024: Well, it's been like a decade or more since I have done any updates. We're all still very busy and, I guess that won't change. So here goes.........
We still own Apple Knockers Ice Cream Parlor and we have started a new Coffee Shop called Windfall Coffee House. We are a glutton for punishment. So far it's doing OK and with TRUMP as our new president the economy seems to be picking up. Over the years we've gotten a couple AC grads as visitors. Sam Duncan and family and Sandy Jackson. It was a pleasure to see them after all these years. My Wife and Daughter, Rita, run the restaurants and Tim and I run KEPCO. We've had our difficult years but we've had more good years than difficult ones.
We left the WCG/Grace Communion when they closed our local Kalamazoo Chruch. After the changes Art Thomas and I were ordained Associate Pastors and that all went away when the church closed. Paula and I have tried to attend a few local churches but that all changed during the Pandemic. Churches closed by order from the government and my perception of our churches completely changed. Since we don't get our rights from the government but from GOD, I was very disappointed in the pastors when they closed church. I haven't been back since. It's a long discussion and maybe someday I'll be back but for now my trust in church pastors is on hold.
I'm now 79 years old and work only 3 days a week. I'm an avid golfer, hunter and Fisherman. We (me and Paula) own 75 acres with 3 ponds and they have incredible blue gill and bass fishing. We also are avid deer hunters with all the grand kids. We never lack things to do. Most of the land is rented to a farmer to raise corn and soy beans.
Our first grand daughter, Norah Palomaki is getting married to Ashton DeVries in May of 2025. We have three grand kids in High School and one in College. Lucy Palomaki is our Office Manager at KEPCO and going to College full time. She's doing a great job and it keeps her busy. Heath and Spencer stay busy with High School sports and hunting and fishing. Natalie is busy with High School and Volleyball. She's very good too.
Our first daughter, Angela, works for Stryker Corp. and is learning a lot about medical instruments and equipment. She loves her job and recently received "Employee of the Month" award.
Rita and Nick got a divorce 3 years ago and it was a difficult time for our family. But life goes on and, despite the heartbreak, they are getting along.
And just so ya'll know, I am a huge TRUMP supporter and believe he's a miracle and has been protected by GOD to save our country. I tried to get involved in Politics by being elected a Michigan Delegate. I soon found that the Republican Party in Michigan is as corrupt as the Democrats. So I elected not to run for the second time. Our State really sucks, although we delivered for TRUMP. Too many law suits and too much corruption for my blood. Makes me really appreciate what the TRUMP family has gone through. But they won't quit and that's great for America. Hope ya'll had a Merry Christmas. So much for that and I will sign off for now and wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year. God Bless America!!!
I was one of the first 108 students and AC Big Sandy, 1964. Worked on the Ranch for Buck Hammer and George Moss and with Bob Kelly, Jim Ribb, Carl Judy, Joe Williams and others. Joe Williams was one of the finest mentors I had at AC. Spent 2 years on the ranch and was transferred to the Athletic Dept. under Dr. Nelson.
Worked with Avon Pfund, Ray Daly, Paul Alexander and Larry Haworth. After 3 years of AC I dropped out and worked full time in the Athletic Dept. on the 1-W program to fulfill my draft status as a CO. Worked there (most knew me as "Hoch") until 1971, left and moved back to Michigan.
