Retirement is good. Trying to stay in touch with old friends and classmates. Ruth continues to work for St Mark UMC as office manager and secretary - 25 years in June 2023.
Born and raised in South West Pennsylvania. Graduated from Uniontown Senior High School (Uniontown, Pa) in 1965. Attended AC Big Sandy 65-69.
Ambassador College was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!

Thank you Gary! Your prayers are greatly appreciated. The love, support and prayers we have received during this difficult time have given us strength and hope to carry on -- knowing one day we will see Brian again. God bless, my friend, Bob
Thank you Sam! No parent ever expects their children to die before they do. It's so surreal at times. He fought a hard battle with a drug resistant lung infection for 3 weeks on a ventilator. He now is at peace and in our loving heavenly Father's care - till we meet again.
It's so nice to hear from you Judy. You know what it's like. I am so sorry for your losses. We are just beginning our journey. God is our Compass, but we don't have a road map - taking one day at a time - some are better than others - but your prayers and so many others are being felt. God bless you dear friend.
Thank you Ginnie! Yes, there is a distant memory... :-) A lot of my memories are distant these days...lol Thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement. Yes, you would love Ruth. She is such a wonderful person. We are so sorry about your Michael. I can't imagine losing a child at age 21 let alone 40. It all seems so surreal, but as time passes the reality hits hard - with the mixed emotions that come along with it. The prayers of so many are such a comfort and are definitely being answered. Hello to Jon. Love you guys!
Thanks Bob and LaVada for your kind words and prayers! It brings us great comfort knowing so many are praying for us.
Wow! I worked for Dwayne Canup in the Purchasing Department at Big Sandy, Texas, for several years. We called him "Chief" because we were a pretty close "tribe." We were supportive of one another and used to go when some of the Purchasing guys gave their sermonettes in outlying areas. A lot of the students worked in Purchasing over the years I was there.
I was also made to feel like a member of his family - being one of the primary babysittters for his two children. They were so young at the time. This was 1971-1974. I spent a lot of time at the Canups' lovely home in Gladewater.
As Barbara Payne mentioned in her post we lived in one of his rental houses in Gladewater after our graduation in 1974.
When Bob and I got married in 1977, Dwayne and Marilyn had a florist business and did the flowers for our wedding.
Bob and I have occasionally seen Dwayne over the years at conferences, and it was always good to catch up on each other's lives.
I know he is still missed by his many friends and his family. So many memories of many times together! He was a wonderful boss and continued to be a wonderful friend over the years. Ruth (Black) Miller
